Every Halloween season, Pizza Hut Indonesia brings back its signature black-crust pizza — and in 2023, we gave it a frightfully fun twist.
Tapping into Indonesia’s love of horror films, we paid homage to the golden age of monster movies with a spot filmed in moody black-and-white. Creeping shadows, ominous strings, over-the-top suspense, and a gloriously cheesy final reveal — all the hallmarks of a classic fright fest. The result? A deliciously spooky Blacktober that was equal parts treat, trick, and freshly baked drama.
In early development, we also toyed with the idea of remixing iconic lines from Indonesian horror into playful, pizza-fied headlines — from “Jeritan lapar tengah malam” to “Waktu lapar menjemput”, and even “Datang tidak dijemput, pulang tidak diantar” (reimagined with a Pizza Hut delivery rider at the door). A little camp, a little creepy — and a lot of fun.
